Options and Opportunities in Language and Culture
The Department of 世界语言 and Cultures offers courses in 中国人, 日本 and 西班牙语, building proficient listening, speaking, reading and writing skills while exploring the target language's literature and culture. 学生 may pursue a B.A. in Foreign Languages in 西班牙语 with either a liberal arts 强调 or a K-12 teaching 强调. 学生 may also choose to major or minor in 亚洲研究, selecting from a wide variety of courses in Asian history and cultures, and combined with 日本 and/or 中国人 language courses. All three languages are also offered as minors.

New 西班牙语 for the Professions Certificate Announced
UNC is Colorado's newest Hispanic Serving Institution, and as part of its focus on building and fostering cultural responsiveness, WLD has created a new certificate program in 西班牙语 for the Professions that equips students who are preparing for careers in business, criminal justice, or health care to communicate effectively with native 西班牙语-speaking stakeholders. 了解更多 在这里

UNC 学生 Attend 2024 Colorado Japan Cup Competition
On April 6, six UNC students attended the 2024 Colorado Japan Cup Competition to showcase their 日本 knowledge and participate in a variety of competitions and cultural 事件. The event is recognized and supported by organizations like the Consulate-General of Japan in Denver, Sumitomo Corporation of America, and TOKIO, Denver. 学生 group, consisting of Ashe Abel, Sofia Lourbecca Padecio, Yi zhu Cao, Maddox Esch, Abraham Sanchez and Sitong Wang, participated alongside teams from schools like CSU and UC Boulder to demonstrate their proficiency and foster cultural exchange and camaraderie.
WLC Exhibitor Table at 2024 CCFLT Spring Conference
教师 from the Department of 世界语言 and Cultures hosted a successful exhibitor table at the recent 2024 Colorado Congress of Foreign Language Teachers (CCFLT) Spring 奥罗拉会议. This annual meeting, attended this year by approximately 300 middle and high school language teachers from across the state, was an opportunity to showcase and promote UNC's graduate and undergraduate language programs.
Latest Poetry Book from Enrique Bernales Albites
去年晚些时候. Enrique Bernales Albites, associate professor in the Department of 世界语言 and Cultures, published a collection of poetry entitled El lenguaje 无名之舞. The book's works tackle history, myths and universal cultures from Mesopotamia, Greece, Peru, the USA, Mexico, Russia and the Arab world. Stepping Outside the Classroom
世界语言 and Cultures students participate in extracurricular activities sponsored by the 中国人 Culture Club, the 日本 Language Club and more. 世界学生 Languages and Cultures are encouraged to study abroad to gain immersive experience in the culture and language of their chosen program.
